Allen Hired as Existing Industry and Tourism Development Manager

Louisburg, N.C. – With more than a decade of experience in destination marketing, tourism development, and community engagement, Angela P. Allen has been hired as Franklin County’snew Existing Industry and Tourism Development Manager.

“I’m excited to work alongside our businesses, community partners, and local leaders to share Franklin County’sstory in ways that attract visitors, support economic growth, and create opportunities for generations to come,” Allen said. “I believe every community has a story worth telling.”

Prior to joining Franklin County, Allen served as Tourism Development Director for Granville County, where she led strategic marketing initiatives, cultivated community partnerships, and promoted the county as a destination for visitors and events. Her work earned multiple state and regional tourism awards, including recognition from the North Carolina Travel Industry Association (NCTIA). Throughout her career, she has built collaborative partnerships with local governments, businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to strengthen local economies, enhance visitor experiences, and support sustainable growth.

“The experience Angela brings will be of significant value to our business and tourism community and the economic development initiatives for Franklin County,” said Franklin County Economic Development Director Barbara Fiedor. “We are excited to have Angela join the team.”

As Existing Industry and Tourism Manager, Allen will work to strengthen relationships with Franklin County’s existing businesses while leading tourism development initiatives that promote the county’s unique assets, support local businesses, and contribute to long-term economic growth.

Allen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of North Carolina atChapel Hill and is a graduate of the Southeast Tourism Society Marketing College, earning the designation of Travel Marketing Professional (TMP). Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, family, and friends, exploring local festivals, live music, and small towns, and discovering the unique places and people that make every community special.
