Planning Board Special Meeting Notice

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 143-318.12 and Chapter 160D of the North Carolina General Statutes, that the Stokes County Planning Board will hold a Special Meeting on:

Date: Thursday, August 13, 2026
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Stokes County Commissioners’ Chambers
Ronald Wilson Reagan Memorial Building
1014 Main Street, Danbury, North Carolina 27016

Purpose of Meeting
To review and consider recommendations to the Stokes County Board of Commissioners on the following items:

1. Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance Update
Proposed amendments to the Stokes County Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance to bring the  County’s floodplain management regulations into compliance with the minimum standards of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) under 44 C.F.R. § 60.3(d), as required by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) with a compliance deadline of August 21, 2026.

2. Conditional Rezoning Application – Project Delta (Data Center)
Petition: Conditional Rezoning Application submitted by DFC Stokes, LLC and DFC Stokes 2, LLC (Petitioner: Engineered Land Solutions, LLC).
Property: Approximately 1,848.741 acres located at 0 US Highway 311 & Tuttle Road; 0 Off US 311 Highway; 1290 Coon Joyce Road; and 1203 Tuttle Road, Walnut Cove, NC 27052.
Parcel Identification Numbers: 6973-76-7124; 6973-73-4188; 6964-91-8321; and 6973-49-0574.
Request: Rezoning from Residential-Agricultural District (R-A) to Heavy Manufacturing Conditional Zoning District (M-2-CZ) to allow development of a data center and associated accessory uses, subject to proposed zoning conditions on file with the Planning and Inspections Department.

Public Participation
The meeting is open to the public. Public comment will be received at the meeting. Written comments may also be submitted to the Stokes County Planning and Inspections Department prior to the meeting. Complete materials for both items are available for public inspection during regular business hours at 
the Stokes County Planning and Inspections Department, 1014 Main Street, Danbury, NC 27016. Relevant materials regarding the data center may be found here.
